Directed by Brad Bird and based on the 1968 Novel by Ted Hughes, the film tells the story of a lonely boy named Hogarth who discovers a giant iron man who fell from space. Hogarth, with the help of a beatnik named Dean, has to stop the U.S. military and a federal agent from finding and destroying the Giant. The film was awarded a BAFTA in 2000 for the best children’s film of the year.
