You will need to gather materials ready for the workshop to make a paper crown.
As we are in lockdown I have tried to compile a list of materials that you may already have at home. I will add alternatives for those of you who have art supplies.
The crown needs to be made robust enough for taking on and off without it destroying easily. I suggest card/board, or , newspaper broad sheet size, that can be tripled for thickness.
Tools: Scissors, glue stick, stapler/tape, colouring pencils/felt tips/crayons.
Materials:
To make a basic crown:
1. Newspaper broadsheet x 6 the length to go around the child’s head. Card /board like a cereal packet or packaging, cut to size.
Or,
Card x1 a3 size go to go around crown of head cut to size and height desired. Left over card can embellish the crown.Decorate the crown:
2. Paper a4 coloured or white which can be cut into shapes and coloured with pencils for desired effect.
3. Foil ( enough to cover the whole crown, or smaller to cut into shapes ).
4. Sweet wrappers or shiny paper that will stick with Pritt for gems.
5. Tissues x1 sheet to look like Ermine fur on the band.
Or,Pieces/strips of fabric , coloured tissue paper make roses to decorate the band.
Gems or pompoms can make jewels and gems.
