Dress to Impress

  • walthamstow high street 2 Carisbrooke Rd England, E17 7EF United Kingdom (map)

Dress to Impress is a workshop for all ages, making a paper waistcoat with a nod to retro 1970’s and 1980’s DISCO. Come and make your waistcoat Dazzle on the dance floor, or, impress your friends and family with your glamorous waistcoat. Scribble and Smudge remember their childhood and the last Jubilee wearing on our clothes symbols of peace, flowers, Charlies angels, stars and rainbows, come and revel in nostalgia by creating some sartorial fun for the day.

Dress to Impress is free. No booking required, we open at 1pm. Will be stationed in Zone 4, nearby Carisbrooke rd ( you’ll be able to spot the open air disco nearby).

The street party:

As street parties pop up all over the country to celebrate the extended June bank holiday; Walthamstow High Street will be transformed into a street party with a festival feel on Sunday 5th June from 1-7pm.  This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to get back together and share some great FREE activities, live music, crafting workshops, storytelling & spoken word performances, interactive games, circus, disco dancing and above all, FUN!

This FREE event has been lovingly put together by the people of Waltham Forest with something for everyone of all ages to enjoy.  There is a common theme emerging from the participating artists, musicians, workshop providers, and storytellers for this event; The significance of being together, sharing experiences and creating something we can all take part in after years of being separated by the pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of so many community events.

Everyone is so pleased to be part of this wonderful celebration.
