A celebration of colour explored in this month’s under 5’s session at The William Morris Gallery.
A new exhibition of the artist Althea McNish, a Trinidadian born artist who reframed the British landscape with a Caribbean eye, by printing textiles in Caribbean colours. A feast of colours for the fashion industry crawling out of dull colours after the second world war.
We will explore printing techniques through colour, texture and botanical shapes. A fun messy session monoprinting. Have fun learning Caribbean song, playing with colour ( toys by Walthamstow toy library) and take home a sartorial delight in a riot of colour of a paper waistcoat.
A free session but a waiting list for the afternoon session is only available at this point. 1 til 2.30 pm.
